Donna Tessier has been training dogs for over 40 years, both independently and as an assistant trainer at Central K-9 Academy in New England. She has instructed all levels of obedience, agility, personal protection, IGP (formerly known as Schutzhund), and nose work. She considers herself a "humble student of the canines that she has had the honor to work with and continue to learn from."
Since moving to Western Colorado, she has continued training dogs, specializing in high-drive, working dogs and those with behavioral issues that others have failed to help. Donna currently owns:
Lucas: that she "adopted" who is famous for his high drive and previous behavioral issues. Donna rehabilitated him, gave him a job, and he is now a highly respected, disciplined, and admired search dog who is trained in Search and Rescue (area search, trailing), and evidence / article search.
Kuma: Nationally certified cadaver dog through SARDUS ( Search and Rescue Dogs of the United States).
Vader: Currently in training for cadaver, Area Search, and Articles and evidence.
She has previously worked at Surface Creek Veterinary Clinic in Cedaredge , Two Rivers Vet Clinic in Delta, and Orchard Mesa Veterinary Hospital.
